It is 4 miles from the airport, although not near the flight paths. 1 mile from Heriot Watt University and Riccarton Research Park. Also 1 mile from the City Bypass with easy access to the motorways and major roads. |

By car:
Coming from the motorway M8 to Edinburgh: follow this all the way. Nearing Edinburgh follow signs Edinburgh city by-pass south. At M8 junction 1 (junction with A720), take right-hand lane to keep forward (signposted city bypass south). At roundabout take the third exit A720 and immediately take left hand lane (signposted A71 Kilmarnock). On A71 out of town, at first roundabout (Park and Ride) bare left, continue uphill atraight through roundabout at Heriot-Watt University. At the next roundabout (residential area), take the second exit stgraight uphill. At "T" junction this is Lanark Road West. Violet Bank House sits across the road to your left on the corner. Turn left onto Lanark Road West, then immediately signal to turn right into the side road "Kirk Gate". Then immediately left into our driveway: well done, you are arrived.
By plane:
The nearest airport is Edinburgh. From there, you can take the Airlink bus, number 100, to the city centre and get off at Haymarket. From there, turn right and once in Dalry Road, take bus number 44, 44A. Get off at Lanark Road West: there is a bus stop opposite the house, close to the Bank of Scotland.
Taxi from airport is much quicker.
By train:
The nearest railway station is Haymarket: from there as above. If you are coming from Waverley station, Look for 44 and 44A bus stop on gardens side of Princes Street direction Balerno. |
