Coming by Car:
Head for the West End district of the city. St. Mary's Cathedral is the nearest landmark if you are approaching from the north. Other landmarks are the Haymarket Train Station if you are approaching from the west or the Airport and Edinburgh Castle if you are approaching from the east or the south. Approx. 300 meters after Haymarket station turn left onto Manor Place and you will find us on the right hand side at number 59.
Unfortunately, parking space is at a premium in the city centre, so there is no private parking at the hotel.
Street parking is available with a 'Pay & Display' ticket, giving a maximum of 2 hours parking between the hours of 0830 to 1830, Mon to Sat (Sunday is free) and not returning to the same parking bay, within 1 hour.
Car parks are available at Haymarket Train Station, Haymarket Yards (just along from the station) and Morrison Link. All are about 10 minutes walk.
Free parking is available with a 10 minute walk back to the hotel. Situated at Ravelston Park, it is a very good residential area.
Coming by Plane:
- From Edinburgh Airport:
Airlink buses run a frequent express shuttle service approximately every 10 minutes, 24 hours a day (in conjunction with Night Buses - N22) and takes 25 minutes. get off at the Haymarket and it is a 5 minute walk. Take West Maitland Street and walk in direction of the center. You will find Manor Place on the left hand side. Take this street and walk up to number 59.
Coming by Train:
Haymarket Train Station at the West End is Edinburgh's second station but many of the trains stop here. If your train does stop at the Haymarket, we are only a 5 minute walk away.
From Waverley Train Station we recommend a short taxi transfer (approx: 5 to 7 minutes) or alternatively walk (approx: 20 to 25 minutes) or get a bus from Princes Street (outside the station) going to the Haymarket and getting off at the end of Shandwick Place (2 minutes walk from there).
From Edinburgh Bus Station:
On Princes Street get any of the following Buses: 3/4/12/ 25/26/31/33/44 and get off just before the Haymarket. Turn right into Manor Place and walk down to the end. Thistle Hotel is on the right-hand side. |
