There are two elegant lounges where after a strenuous (or leisurely) day you can read the many books and magazines from our small library. Before dinner, you may wish to meet with other guests while enjoying canapés and an aperitif. Later, enjoy the amber glow from open fires while sipping that more famous amber - malt whisky. Or, if you would prefer a port, or a brandy. |
A small library provides an interesting and diverse selection of books for guests to browse through including: Scottish history, art, castles, whisky, wildlife, mountains and fishing. Tourist information and maps are also kept in this room and provide a wealth of information on the surrounding area and further afield. The dining room and adjoining garden room create a warm ambience for the candlelit dinners which are a fascinating blend of traditional and modern Scottish cooking.
A carefully chosen wine list enhances the enjoyment of the food which is prepared to order using fresh local ingredients where possible. |
The large landscaped garden and private woodlands to the rear of the house are both secluded and peaceful with a pond and stream to encourage wildlife. On fine days guests are welcome to relax here and enjoy refreshments. From our private woodland garden there is a gateway to a thousand acres of delightful mixed woodland known as "The Wild Woods of Anagach" which form a small part of The Cairngorm National Park. A ten minute stroll will take you to The River Spey famous for its salmon and sea trout. The same time will take you to The Speyside Way. For the health of the majority of our guests the Pines is strictly no smoking. |
