Coming by car: driving to Edinburgh on the A1. Follow the road right into Edinburgh city centre. Continue west along Princes Street, passing Edinburgh castle on your left. As you approach the western end of Princes Street, be in the right hand lane. Keep going ahead, into Shandwick Place and follow the signs for A8 to Glasgow. Stay in the right hand lane. After approximately 600 metres, the road turns sharp left almost 180 degrees, then immediately turns right and right again so that you are once again going in the same westerly direction. You will soon pass Edinburgh Haymarket railway station on your left, then a large stately home on your right. A short distance ahead you will see a small church on your left. We are immediately before that church. - A68, A7, A701 & A702: Follow them all to Princes Street, turn left and follow the directions above. - M90 over the Forth Bridge: Be in the left hand lane coming over the bridge. (The view is nicer.) Immediately after you cross the Forth Road Bridge be ready for an early left turn. Follow the signs to Edinburgh Airport and A8, Do not follow the first signs to Edinburgh city centre; pass Edinburgh airport first. Eventually you will pass the airport on your left. You are now on the A8 Corstorphine Road, heading directly for Edinburgh city centre. Approximately 5 km past the airport you will go under a small rail bridge, the only rail bridge on this road and a few yards ahead you will see a petrol station and a small church, on your right. We are immediately past that church, also on your right. - From Stirling-M9: It's a straight road. Pass Edinburgh airport ad follow the instructions above. - From Glasgow M8: Take the exit signposted Edinburgh Airport, A8. At the large roundabout turn right. You will pass Edinburgh Airport on your left. This is the A8 Corstorphine Road. It leads straight to us. Approximately 5 km past the airport you will go under a small bridge; the only bridge. A few hundred km ahead you will see a petrol station on your right, then a small church. We are immediately past that church, also on your right. |
