Spylaw Bank House is an elegant Georgian house built in 1790 as the farm house and dower house for the famous Edinburgh merchant James Gillespie. It enjoys a secluded position in its own private gardens close to the historic village of Colinton, yet is only three miles from the city centre. Colinton village has several fine local restaurants and amenities. David Martin is pleased to welcome guests to his family home where comfort is assured.

You can relax in the original drawing room with open fire and views of the fine gardens. Breakfast is taken in the spacious dining room with its period features. There are three double bedrooms each of which has a private bathroom with bath and / or shower, cable television, DVDs and tea/coffee trays and every comfort and facility. Each room is luxuriously appointed wiht many personal touches and have king-sized, double or twin beds.

Heating can be controlled for personal comfort and all bathrooms have heated towel rails and hair dryers. Spylaw Bank House is ideally situated for people with business in and around Edinburgh as well as a base for sightseeing in the City and touring Scotland. The B&B is at only a ten minute drive from the airport and only minutes from the City By-Pass and motorways. For exploring Edinburgh, visitors may leave their cars in the private parking area within the grounds and take a bus into the city centre (a 15 minute journey). The bus service is excellent with buses running frequently from the nearby bus stop.
