Spylaw Bank House is located in Colinton, one of the few remaining working villages in the City of Edinburgh. The village has a unique identity, local shops, churches, restaurants and plenty of leisure facilities. The Water of Leith bisects the village and was an important source of water power for the many mills that used to operate in the area. Several of the houses in the Spylaw area are architecturally noteworthy having been designed by Robert Lorimer. Spylaw Bank House is an historically listed building and is located close to the excellent public transport services on the A70 Lanark Road, near Gillespie Crossroads. |
