By car:
- From West: via M8, A8, take A720 City Bypass South for several miles to Sheriff Hall Roundabout, take exit A7 City Centre to CameronToll Roundabout and follow signs for City Centre, this will take onto an Avenue with progressively different names (Craigmillar Park/ Mayfield Gardens/Minto Street/Newington Road) Southside is one mile and half from Cameron Toll on the left hand side at the junction with West Preston Street. Alternatively you can access Southside via Edinburgh City Centre as follows: via M8 (City Bypass North) ,M9, A8, M90 signs City Centre then Corstorphine, Haymarket, Lothian Road, Meadows, Hope Park Terrace, turning left on South Clerk which leads to Newington Road - Southside is a few hundred yards on your right at the corner with West Preston Street.
- From East: M1/A1 - take signs for Forth Bridge / Airport to Sheriff Hall Roundabout, take exist A7 City Centre to Cameron Toll roundabout and follow signs for City Centre, this will take onto an Avenue with progressively different names (Craigmillar Park/ Mayfield Gardens/Minto Street/Newington Road) Southside is one mile and half from Cameron Toll on the left hand side at the junction with West Preston Street. Alternatively stay on A1 (bypass signs for Forth Bridge) and take for City Centre / Leith to exit sign posted Craigmiller/Musselburgh (B&Q, Wickes and Fort Kinnaird Shopping Centre can be seen from road just before exit) At roundabout, left, over roundabout, and stay on main road through shopping centre to Cameron Toll Roundabout and follow signs for City Centre, this will take onto an Avenue with progressively different names (Craigmillar Park/ Mayfield Gardens/Minto Street/Newington Road) Southside is one mile and half from Cameron Toll on the left hand side at the junction with West Preston Street.
- From South: From M64/Carlisle/Bigger/Peebles join A720 at Junction (sign posted for City Bypass South) to Sheriff Hall Roundabout. take exit A7 City Centre to CameronToll Roundabout and follow signs for City Centre, this will take onto an Avenue with progressively different names (Craigmillar Park/ Mayfield Gardens/Minto Street/Newington Road) Southside is one mile and half from Cameron Toll on the left hand side at the junction with West Preston Street.
- From North: M90 via Forth Bridge, sign posted Edinburgh City Centre (A90) Queensferry Road, Queensferry Street, Melville Street, Shandwick Place, Lothian Road, Meadows, Hope Park Terrace, turning left on South Clerk which leads to Newington Road - Southside is a few hundred yards on your right at the corner with West Preston Street. By bus:
National buses: arrive at St Andrew's Square very close to Waverley Station from where you can walk, take a taxi or a bus to Southside.
By train:
There are two train stations in Edinburgh - Waverley and Haymarket. Taxis are available from both stations. If you prefer to walk, Haymarket station is about 25 minutes' walk and Waverley is about 15 minutes' walk. Alternatively catch a bus (see above).
By Air:
Edinburgh Airport is located to the west of the city, approximately 10 miles from Southside. Taxi journey time is approximately 25 minutes. Alternatively, there is an inexpensive and frequent bus service to the city centre. |
