Sherwood Guest House is a superb wholly non-smoking 3 star guest house accommodation situated one mile from the centre of Edinburgh. Part of a Georgian terrace, built in 1832 and recently renovated, it retains most of its original features, minus the draughts & bad plumbing, and is within easy walking distance of the Queens Hall, the Festival Theatre, Edinburgh Castle, and many fine restaurants. Sherwood Guest House is an ideal base for a visit to our historic city and, after its renovation, is now one of the finest of all Edinburgh guest houses, which we think caters to all the needs of all our guests.

We are situated close to numerous theatres, bars, restaurants and within one mile most of Edinburgh's famous tourist attractions. As we are a small establishment we put our emphasis on our personal approach and service. Our Scottish buffet style breakfasts are a great start to a day's sightseeing, or golfing, or festival attending, or hill walking or just chilling out. We will help you arrange your tours of Edinburgh whether that be 'self catering' or one of the many organised variety. We can also assist in your choice of dining in any of Edinburgh's fabulous restaurants. All tastes are catered for whether it is Pub Grub and a pint, haute cuisine and fine wines or something in between.

Edinburgh must surely be one of the most beautiful cities in the world. It's main thoroughfare while having some beautiful monuments, gardens, art galleries and stores, is dominated by a large castle which sits atop a most imposing rock. There are castles, palaces, museums, galleries, cathedrals, churches and municipal buildings enough to satisfy the most ardent archaeological scholar. For the culture vultures there are many fine theatres and music halls especially during the various festivals that take place throughout the year. The Jazz and Folk Music festivals are only two of the yearly musical events and we must not forget the International Festival (Aug-Sept) when every hall in the town is transformed into a theatre for the duration.
