The Salisbury Hotel

Surrounded by a magnificently tranquil walled garden, the Salisbury Hotel is a real treasure, tucked away in Edinburgh's south side. This luxury 4 star Edinburgh boutique hotel is nearby Holyrood park. It is well connected to the Old Town and City Centre by many bus lines, making this a convenient address for those wanting to visit the Royal Mile, Edinburgh Castle, Queen's Hall, Edinburgh Festival Theatre and Edinburgh University by bus or on foot.

Guests to the Salisbury Hotel, a beautiful Georgian town house, will receive a very warm welcome. They can look forward to the prospect of waking up every morning to a fabulous Scottish breakfast , with such delights as a Scottish grill, French toast with grilled bacon and passion fruit syrup or poached eggs with watercress and Hollandaise sauce. The perfect week-end break or family holiday is just waiting for you at the Salisbury Hotel, thanks to the combination of great food, location and hospitality.

In the walled garden , guests can relax, watch their children play in the small climbing area, or have dinner al fresco , tasting gourmet cuisine prepared in the Gabbro Restaurant. The restaurant's bar also invites guests to sample their fine selection of wines, beers and malt whiskeys at lunch and dinner times.
PLEASE NOTE : Gabbro Bistro will be closed for renovation works from November 2009 until Feb/Mar 2010. Breakfast service is not affected, however, the hotel is regrettably not offering any other meals at during this period.

At the Gabbro Restaurant, you can taste the finest Scottish fish, poultry, meat, home-grown fruit and vegetables, together with a host of stunningly creative starters, main courses and desserts. Children are also made especially welcome, as they can enjoy a specially designed menu, using freshly prepared ingredients, and play with a games pack while you finish off your meal.

The restaurant's bar offers a wide variety of beers, spirits and wines as well as over 20 fine malt whiskeys and liqueurs for after dinner.

A full Scottish breakfast is served in the restaurant between 8.15 a.m. and 9.30 a.m. from Monday to Saturday, and between 8.45 a.m. and 10 a.m. on Sunday.
