  • At what time can we check-in and out?
    All accommodations, Check In any time, Check Out before 11am. Please let us know in advance what time you intend to check in.
  • Is the price per room/apartment or per person?
    Price charged is per person per night when shared double or triple rooms and price per person per night for single occupancy.
  • Is breakfast included in the price and what type of breakfast?
    Where it says full cooked breakfast grilled bacon 2 slices (smoked usually) sausage, barn or free range egg (I do not take eggs from a caged bird) tomato, baked beans, hash brown will be served with toasts. Tea/coffee/fresh orange/herbal teas/hot chocolate... really anything except champagne! All cooked breakfast will include cereals and fruits. Where its says continental, a choice of fruits, cereals, yoghurts... will be served. For the vegetarians or vegans there is always a solution.
  • Is heating included in the price?
    Yes, it is included. Radiators have thermostatic valves for heat control.
  • Can we settle the bill on arrival?
    You can pay on arrival or on leaving as you prefer.
  • Which languages are spoken at the reception?
    At reception we speak English or French and more or less the same when you leave unless you behaved badly.
  • How many floors are there in the building and do you have an elevator (lift) in the building?
    Access is via 13 steps then every thing is on same level.
  • Are there quiet, private, romantic rooms?
    Although you are in the city center the place is very quiet due to the fact that the terrace where the B&B is situated is not a main road and car do not have a good reason to use it unless they are local. The rooms are very private and not over looked and they will be as romantic as you are.
  • Are linens and towels provided or do I need to bring my own?
    All coordinated linen is provided with 2 pillows per person, a bath and a hand towel is provided per person.
  • Do the rooms/apartments have a terrace/courtyard?
    There is a sunny Patio (weather permiting) with a bench at the front of the house.
  • Do the rooms/apartments have a balcony?
    The B&B is at ground level.
  • Do you have non smoking rooms/apartments?
    The whole house is strictly non smoking, except the patio.
  • Is there a TV in the rooms/apartments? Are there international channels (satellite or cable TV)?
    There are colour televisions in all rooms receiving the 5 BBC stations.
  • Is there a telephone with direct dialling in the rooms/apartments?
    No.
  • Is there air conditioning in the rooms/apartments? Is there any extra charge for this? Is it seasonal?
    Scotland tends to have heating rather than air conditioning, so the answer is no...
  • Is there a dining room where we could sometimes all dine together?
    There is a dining room that you are welcome to use.
  • Do you have an Internet/E-Mail point in the Property?
    Unfortunately there is not Internet connections or e-mail facilities at present within the premises.
  • Is there a swimming pool? When is it open?
    No.
  • Is parking or garage available?
    Parking is off the street and is free providing you find a space. To this end, on request I can secure a space for your car.
  • Where can we rent a car?
    Both Ford and Avis are 7 min away on foot. During the high season I strongly advise that you organize your booking well in advance.
  • Which is the nearest airport?
    Edinburgh international airport.
  • Do you have a pickup or shuttle service from and to the airport?
    No, but see details for "how to get to your place".
  • Which is the nearest railway station?
    Waverley is 6oo yards away, or 13-15 min on foot, 2min in a taxi.
  • Is there a fitness center in the Property (Gym, Jacuzzi, Sauna, Turkish bath...)?
    No.
  • Are pets welcome?
    No.
  • Is there a restaurant in the Property?
    No, but there are plenty just 2min up the road in Broughton Street.
  • Can I connect my modem so that I can surf the Internet from my room/apartment?
    Not yet.
