Thanks to its position, the guest house is the ideal accommodation for business men or tourists coming to Edinburgh for different reasons. Our Victorian property built in 1894 sits adjacent to the Union canal which links up with the other major canals at Falkirk where a wheel has been built to lift barges onto the other canals. The canals were built during the 18th century and there is now considerable development of these both for recreational and environmental benefit. The canal can be accessed from the rear of the property. Situated on one of the main bus routes there are two buses which can be taken from the front of the house which take you the 10 minute journey to the centre of town where you will find all kinds of restaurants, bars and shops.
Edinburgh is a vibrant city but small enough to quickly find your way around.Visiting the famous castle is a must but there are many other attractions such as the Royal yacht Britannia, Scottish parliament, Holyrood palace, Whisky Heritage centre, Dynamic Earth, Cathedrals and Museums. For art lovers there are several galleries (Modern and traditional). There are also many theatres located around the town catering for different tastes where an enjoyable evening can be spent or alternatively spend an evening exploring the pubs, some of which provide live music.
