 Kirklea Guest House offers a comfortable and tastefully furnished accommodation, ideally located in a quite and calm area of Edinburgh. We feel it is important to start the day right so we have a choice of breakfasts. After cereal and orange juice we offer ten types of breakfast. Our Breakfast Menu offers a fairly wide choice. For our vegetarian guests, we have a special vegetarian breakfast or a light breakfast which may also appeal to our overseas visitors |
 A continental breakfast may also be enjoyed in place of the traditional "Scottish breakfast" with an optional haggis sampler. We will be happy to refill your pot of tea or coffee and replenish your toast - just ask. Parking is available just in front and all around the house, so it is not a problem, if you are traveling with your own car. We will be delighted to suggest you the best restaurants and excursions of the area, to discover the best spots of the city. |

| Perhaps you already know why you want to visit Edinburgh; if not, here are a few ideas to whet your appetite. The castle is a must-see. My favourite part is the 11th century chapel of Saint Margaret. It's tiny but full of atmosphere. Edinburgh boasts a great new addition to the museum scene. At last a museum of Scotland showing its history. Two of favourite ruined castles are just a short drive down the coast. Tantallon stands on the edge of a cliff overlooking the bass rock bird sanctuary (also worth a visit). Not far away is Dirleton, an inland castle which is certainly worth a visit from spring to autumn as you approach it through a wonderful border garden. In August, Edinburgh hosts its world famous fringe program and international festival featuring the Edinburgh "Military Tattoo". |
