Made to feel very welcome, and good information about our interests in the area. Great hosts. ... I found Kilmaurs Guest House to be of excellent quality, the hosts to be very friendly and the breakfast by far the best encountered any where. I have stayed in many BB's but this is fantastic. Excellent value for money. ... If you can get a booking at Kilmaurs don't bother ringing elsewhere.

Donna offered us a cup of tea with some biscuits at our arrival. Great arrival ! ... he breakfast was huge and delicious (all kinds of fresh fruits, cereals, and all scottish dishes for breakfast such as haggies, potato scone, pork sausages, ...). The bedroom was very cosy and comfortable. Donna gave us a lot of informations about the places to visit. She was our best Scottish guide in Edinburgh. You can take the bus at the corner of the street. You go to The Royal Mile will take in 10 minutes. ... One of the best Guest House in Edinburgh

WE WERE VERY PLEASED WITH THE HELPFUL , FRIENDLY STAFF. THE BREAKFAST WAS SO FRESH , LOTS TO EAT AND TASTED FANTASTIC. IT WAS ENOUGH TO KEEP YOU GOING FOR THE DAY. THE ROOM WAS VERY HOMEY AND BIG , AS WE HAD JUST VISITED ITALY AND THE ROOMS WERE TINY , NOT VERY CLEAN AND PEOPLE UNFRIENDLY. THE KILMAUR WAS GREAT. ... I WOULD RECOMMEND THE KILMAURS TO ANYONE LOOKING TO STAY IN EDINBURGH AND IT WAS VERY CLOSE TO THE TRAIN AND BUS ROUTES. ... MAKE SURE YOU TRAVEL LIGHT. IT IS ALONG WAY UP THE STAIRS. ... BREAKFAST WAS EVERY FRESH FRUIT AVAILABLE , YOGURT ,CEREAL , JUICE , TEA AND COFFEE. AND A FULL HOT MENU OF EGGS,TOAST,POTATO SCONE ETC. ... A PERFECT BED AND BREAKFAST IN EDINBURGH , AT A GREAT VALUE WITH THE FRESHEST BREAKFAST ANYWHERE.

Re 1 above, directions should name the sequence of roads constituting the A720 as this route is not clearly signposted at some key intersections. Indication of the distance of Prestonfield Road from the city-by-pass would also be of assistance.
Re 2 above, the Proprietor's provision of a pot of tea on arrival was greatly appreciated. ... The Proprietor's excellent 'local knowledge' of tourist attractions and restaurants and her enthusiasm to ensure that guests leave with the best possible impression of Edinburgh were beyond our expectations. ... See item 10 above. ... We would highly recommend it.

We very much appreciated the nice pot of tea and the delicious cookies Donna brought to our room right after our arrival. We found the location very convenient. Within walking distance to downtown Edinburgh (Appr. 20 min). ... Great breakfast! Lots of fresh, seasonal fruit! Two lovely dogs! ... Donna gave us very helpful driving directions to get out of town while avoiding the traffic. ... Very convenient location. Quiet, well kept neighbourhood - no parking problems. Small, but cosy rooms - nice view to Arthur`s seat.

We did not communicate our arrival time- our own oversight. ... Excellent breakfast and room. Our matresses were ok but the one's at the previous B&B were better. This is not a complaint by any means and I have already recommended Kilmaurs to others and would book there again if ever in Edinburgh. ... Owners were very helpful with directions and securing a taxi. ... Excellent Breakfast. ... Convenient location, good price, very nice room except beds are ok. Breakfast is excellent and the owners are very friendly and helpful.

Very satisfied! ... It's a fantastic B&B to stay. Donna, the hostess, was really nice and warm. The place was clean and well decorated. The lighting was just right and comfortable. The food (breakfast) was excellent! Fresh, tasty, beautiful, abundant! Everything was so fit! The location at a quiet residential area was easily accessed by bus and its distance from the city centre was ideal for a leisure walk through Hollyrood Park. The surroundings gave us a safe atmosphere that visitors, like us, were always at a great relief.

the lock inside shower room cannot be locked, it implies no privacy especially during bathing. In addition, there is no shower cap and shampoo provided. It is rather no convenience with the visitors.

Wonderful experience - great hosts and awesome breakfast!! thanks! ... Tucked away just a short jaunt from Arthur's Seat in a quiet neighorhood resides Kilmaurs Guest House. Warm hospitality and quant accomedations await the weary traveler. A casual atmosphere meets the wakened guest for breakfast, however, don't be decieved by the casual atmospehere as this early morning meal is excellent. A highly reccomended stay to say the least!

We had very little trouble finding the house. We were cordially welcomed by the proprietor, who was helpful in providing basic information about the surrounding area. ... We really liked the people who run Kilmaurs Guest House. The breakfast was one of the best we had during our travels throughout the UK. ... Simple - no complications. ... Kilmaurs Guest House is one of several B&Bs in the area - a short bus ride from the center of Edinburgh. The rooms are large and comfortable, and the breakfast, with its wonderful selection of fresh fruits, is excellent. The owners were very helpful in explaining the bus routes. Walking to the town center is possible, and the buses provide an easy escape at the end of a long day.

The owner went out of her way to clean a room for me when I arrived early from an international flight and offered me tea while I waited. very nice people. ... The shower had very little water pressure, but it was clean and had hot water so it was ok. ... There is no phone on site, you have to walk to the post office to use a coin only phone, only about a two minute walk. Also, the restaurants are few and you have to walk uphill to any good restaurants or take a bus into the center of the city. It says it near the University of Edinburgh campus, but not the main campus, that is a very long hike uphill. ... Small and friendly, very good breakfasts. Not a central location, but easily accessible by bus into the city center. There are a lot of steps to get into the front door and to get to the rooms, keep it in mind if disabled.
