We took a cab from the train station. It was easy to find and in a lovely location.

The apartment was gorgeous! We really appreciated having a kitchen and laundry facilities, although the dryer was not very efficient.
...
I only wish we could have stayed longer!

The proprietor provides a wealth of information about Edinburgh and the surround area, in the form of well-organized notebooks, maps, pamphlets, etc. She also gave us advice on which restaurants were child-friendly, recommended a tour of the city and described several of the other attractions so we could decide which ones we wanted to see.
...
So much better than a hotel! We loved the privacy, the unique shape of the living room, the beautiful decorations and furnishings. The location is convenient to Princes Street, tourist attractions and many restaurants. We have a baby, so we spent a lot of time at the apartment. We felt very much at home.

Diane was wonderful - full of great information and so accomadating. We were meeting our daughter there, who had been studying in Edinburgh for 5 months, so we ended up not needing maps, but they were all there if we needed them. She had a whole table of tourist info at our disposal.
...
We had our two college-aged children with us, so it was great to have space for everyone. Diane provided great breakfast and snack food, and we even used the washer/dryer and iron while we were there. It couldn't have been more perfect!!
...
We were in a rush when we left, so didn't get to really tell Diane how much we appreciated the stay.
...
It was in a great location - right Off Charlotte Square. There were several restaurants and pubs within a few blocks. The flat was a wonderful old building with high ceilings and huge windows.
...
Much better than a hotel. A great flat with space for everyone, all the comforts of home; washer/dryer, stocked kitchen. A great location right in the middle of New Town, and a wonderful hostess!!

Fantastic appartment. The welcome food was great and was topped up for the second night.
We just loved it.
...
Able to leave cases there until going for the plane.
...
very friendly and helpful
...
everything you need for a quiet few days away. Luxury.
For my husband and myself (or with the family) it would be too expensive but because there were four friends going and therefore the cost was devided between four families it was okay.

A super apartment in a very good location. Lots of books and tourist info available in the house.
...
A beutiful apartment, well equiped and very welcoming with fresh flowers in the living room. Can't wait to go back!
...
The place to rent if you go to Edinburgh, but don't bring your car as parking expensive. Better than a hotel if you don't mind making your own breakfast.

I emailed Diane Dickson and asked for more detailed directions to the apt. and received a very prompt reply with explicit instructions on how to find Glenfinlas St.

We were overwhelmed by the thoughfulness of our landlady - she had anticipated every possible need we might have and it was there waiting for us - the refrigerator was stocked with breakfast items including fresh fruit, coffee, eggs, bread, etc. There were brochures giving info. about Edinburgh, restaurants, transportation, etc. Nothing had been overlooked!
...
Very quiet, yet only one block from George St. and Princes St. with restaurants, bars, and shops.
...
PERFECT!!! We will stay there again if we return to Edinburgh. We much preferred it to the finest hotel.
