the world's most comprehensive arts festival in the world, the Edinburgh
International Festival turns the city of Edinburgh into a mecca
for lovers of opera, classical music, jazz, theatre, jazz, comedy,
film and books. The festival starts each year on the second Sunday
of August. Provisional programmes for the year's events are usually
available around March of every year and booking lines open up mid-April.
Accommodation is particularly difficult to secure during the weeks
of the festival and it pays to book well in advance for both the
events and hotels.
