 The Guesthouse @ Eskbank is set in half an acre of its own grounds in the leafy conservation area sleepy hollow of Eskbank and Newbattle Abbey. It is 7 miles to The Edinburgh Royal Mile (half of which is green belt - quick to drive through). The bus service (no.3 - LRT) runs every 10 mins. Within 150 meters and 400 meters are the A7 and A68 trunk roads. The Edinburgh Bypass dual carriageway (A720) is within 1 mile. The Guesthouse has ample off street parking. Peaceful Walled Garden to the rear of the property is an attractive walled/child secure gated garden with croquet lawn, 150 yr old fabulous Cedar tree and beautiful flower and shrub borders. |

By car:
From Edinburgh Bypass A720 exit at Sheriffhall Roundabout and take A68 (Old Dalkeith Road) to Dalkeith. Drive ahead (Down slope 500 meters - Up hill 150 meters) and turn right at traffic lights. After 300 meters on your left hand side (near St. David's Church), you will find us at house no 45.
If you are traveling north on A68, turn LEFT at Dalkeith at traffic lights. 45 Eskbank Road is 350 yards on your left hand side.
By plane:
From Edinburgh airport, as well as from Edinburgh Waverley Station, we suggest our guests to take a taxi. The Guesthouse is happy to arrange "Meet&Greet" taxi (at lower cost than Airport taxi) or car hire from a Scottish low cost car hire company. Alternatively, from the airport you can take the bus Airlink, number 100 and get off at Waverly Bridge. Then take bus no 3(3A) from North Bridge and get off at Dalkeith center (the bus stops at Buccleuch St, which crosses the Eskbank Road). The GuestHouse is few yards on your left hand side. |
