The Guesthouse@Eskbank is an excellent base for "park & ride" to Edinburgh. Set in the leafy Eskbank and Newbattle Abbey conservation area it is a peaceful retreat from busy Edinburgh. It is a relaxed family sort of place and children are welcome to play in the secure walled garden and croquet lawn. |
In 2003 and 2004 £350,000 has been spent on refurbishing and upgrading. You can be assured of an up market, awards winning guesthouse in a Scottish mansion house set in its own grounds. Accommodation includes 2 family rooms and all rooms are now ensuite. |
The "Highland" breakfasts are special: Dr. Caskie of Wisconsin University noted in 2005 that at The Guesthouse@Eskbank he had the best food he had ever tasted. Quite a special accolade (he has agreed that we may quote him on this). |
The breakfasts are 3 courses, healthy and with an emphasis on organic food. The dining room is very special and includes family heirloom antique furniture and portraits. Quality wise the Guesthouse is within the top 15% category in quality grading. |
