Nous avons fait 2 séjours de 2 nuits, donc dans 2 chambres. La première donne sur la rue, et est bruyante. La deuxième sur l'arrière et est très calme. Sinon, la patronne est très gentille et prévenante.

Une carafe de Whisky et une de Sherry est en libre service en général.

I don't believe that the website mentioned
that there were flights of stairs to climb
before we reached reception. There are 47
stairs to be exact.

Alan was gracious and helpful and pointed out where we could find an internet cafe when we asked about that.

The room was not huge and our luggage had to stay on the floor. However, it was ample enough. The B&B was quiet, and being on a side street the traffic noise was not objectionable.
The breakfasts were great, and tailored to each person's wishes. We were very comfortable there.
The sherry and whiskey was a nice touch, too.

The lack of a lift might be a deterrent to some.

Clean, comfortable, cheerful, friendly B&B very conveniently located near the bus station and train station, easy to find. A good choice in this price range.

Very pleasant stay at Elder York Guesthouse.
Terrific staff and lovely cats.
Location is ideal and only a hop, skip and jump from bus station. I hope to return.

A very clean and comfortable place to stay. The breakfast is excellent and the staff are pleasant and welcoming.
Elder York is very central and it is very easy to get to the major places of interest.

This accommodation was excellent! The room which I stayed at, the dining room where I ate breakfast and a shared bath room, all of them were clean! Regarding breakfast, I had a lot of choices, such as scottish breakfast or vegitarian. Additionally, they served 3 kind of scottish wiskey at any time free of charge!

I had stayed there for 3 nights, mind you, every day, they changed bad seats like a hotel. It was very comfortable. They have more than 2 cats in the accommodation.

I do recommend my friends to stay at this guest house. The location is also convenient very much.

Alan is very nice and the lady who prepared breakfast is friendly too. We requested an earlier breakfast and they are very cooperative :)
Just a tiny problem that water goes very slowly in the shower...

There were 4 flights of stairs to take baggage before you even checked in. I was there with a senior and it was a difficult trek for her. The innkeeper was not there initially but did have staff available.

Nice tall ceilings; breakfast very good; location close to city sites; quite a few stairs to climb to get to room; warm at night with no air conditioning; noisy street noises if window kept open; allowed to keep bags stored even after checkout which was very helpful.

Nobody there so went to a cafe nearby and phoned back later to check whether in.

First night the only one person was available for a twin room, but we paid full price. I thought that a reduction would be more appropriate to cover for not taking breakfast, washing linen, etc.
Although this was partly my fault in not discussing this beforehand with the manager, the check out girl was rather abrupt back when trying to discuss the situation.

The toilet bowl shredder broke during the second day of our stay. It was not able to be fixed during the stay, resulting in us using the hall bathroom.
