 The Skerries Restaurant: The Skerries Restaurant offers diners a superb selection of dishes, mostly harvested from the rich tidal waters around Orkney and Shetland. Our award winning chef uses the freshest ingredients to create an innovative menu, with food that simply bursts with style and flavour. This elegant restaurant makes much of its handsome original features combined with an evocative and genuine Orcadian atmosphere. The Skerries Restaurant and Stane Bar are open to guests and non-residents. Although the emphasis is on seafood we serve a rich variety of other dishes, including prime Orkney beef and lamb and vegetarian meals.
Private dining and banqueting facilities are available in the Oak Room and the Library. Both these rooms boast handsome period charm and can seat up to 22 diners each. |
 The Stane Bar: For those who wish to savour a lighter or more informal meal, a wide choice of tasty fresh dishes is available in the Stane Bar. The Bar brings the spirit of Orkney into the heart of Edinburgh. The contemporary decor, crafted from stone and wood, has a very natural feel enhanced by the antique photographic prints of Orcadian life displayed around the bar. Malt whisky, uisge beatha - the water of life, is the order of the day here. Discover your own favourite among our huge selection. For a true Orcadian experience why not relax in front of an open fire and sample one of the island's distinctive malts? Highland Park and Scapa are both distilled in Kirkwall and capture the character of the islands with their aroma of peat and heather. The Bar is open to guests and non-residents, daily from 11:00am to 11:00pm. |
 Conference Facilities: The prestigious Oak Room and Library are available for conference use. Each caters for minimum 22/maximum 35, theatre style, delegates. A full range of modern audio visual resources is available. We will be happy to discuss our conference facilities in more detail on request.

| The Hotel is situated in West Coates, a mainly residential area of Edinburgh, within walking distance of the city centre and the Water of Leith, which flows through a picturesque valley to the rear of the Dunstane House. Surprisingly for such an urban setting, foxes and badgers are often seen. The river itself is actively fished. Beyond lies the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art and Dean Gallery. We recommend this walk to unwind after a hard day's shopping. |
