Dovecot House is 5 min. cab ride from Edinburgh Airport -- very convenient when making connections. While in a quiet residential area, nice restaurants are in easy walking distance.

The family room was more spacious & more elegantly equipped than I judged from the photo. The beds are comfortable and the shower perhaps the best in Scotland. Maggie & Colin are delightful. We could not have felt more welcome.

I arrived in the midmorning (check -in was mid-afternoon) to ask if I could leave my car parked there while I took the bus to Edinburgh to sightsee - and also to see if my violin could stay in the house rather than the car until check-in time. The hostess was extremely accommodating and agrreable to both requests.

We did feel that although the house was beautifully finished the price was rather high considering there are no en-suite facilities.
