Blinkbonny House is a beautiful detached bungalow built in the 30's on what was formerly an apple orchard, situated on the west side of Edinburgh in one of the finest districts of the city. The house sits on an elevated position overlooking a tree-lined park. The rooms to the rear of the house have a spectacular outlook over the surrounding area. Blinkbonny House is in an excellent location for easy access into the city. |
It is only a 5 minutes bus ride to Princes Street or a pleasant 20 minutes walk past some of Edinburgh's splendid Victorian dwellings and tree lined streets. This walk will also take you past Daniel Stewarts Melville college, a grade A listed building, opened in 1855 and currently the largest private school/college in Europe. And over one of Edinburgh's finest stone built bridges - Dean bridge which was designed by the great Scots architect Thomas Telford and opened in 1832. |
Dean Bridge stands about 30 meters above the water of Leith with splendid views across the New Town. Places within easy walking distance include the shops and gardens of Princes Street, Edinburgh Castle, the National Gallery of Modern Art, Royal Botanical Gardens and Stockbridge, a conservation area renowned for its antique shops and excellent restaurants.
