By train:
Depending on where you are coming from you will either get off at Haymarket or Waverley railway station. From Haymarket I suggest you get a taxi to our house. It is less than 4 km so will be relatively inexpensive. From Waverley station you can either get a taxi, again it is less than 4 km, or come up onto Princes Street and get a "Lothian" bus number 37, 37a or 19 (from the same side of the road as the castle). Ask the driver to let you off at Orchard Brae. Our house is situated in the small slip road behind the bus stop.
By plane:
From Edinburgh airport you can either get a taxi or "Lothian" Airlink bus, (number 100) which brings you into the city centre. Ask the driver to let you off at the "West End" (of Princes Street). From there turn left into Queensferry Street and get a "Lothian" bus number 37, 37a or 19. Ask the driver to let you off at Orchard Brae. Our house is situated in a small slip road behind the bus stop.
By car:
Which ever way you come into Edinburgh you should look for signs for the A90. This road takes you between Edinburgh city centre to the Forth road bridge (Queensferry Road). Our house is situated less than 2 km from the city centre and the nearest main junction from Queensferry Road (A90) is Orchard Brae. Turn into Orchard Brae and we are situated in a small slip road behind the only bus stop in Orchard Brae. Our house is about 90 meters from the roundabout. |
