It was a nice hotel and the staff were plesent, but the inside of the build and the rooms need a bit of a paint and general maintenance needs to be carried out. There is no real reception area, It a little hole in the wall next to the bar.
We did have a good time and would use the hotel again.

Not for everyone, but if you are looking for something different and fun; definitely the place to be.

I would add the quirkness of this hotel, I loved it but some might not. Definatly not for anyone who cant walk upstairs with their baggage as there is no elevator. Its also pretty weird to go up a back entrance when the bar is full and you have to get people to move away from the small door upstairs. Its also very noisy if you are facing the street, so earplugs a must! We had a great time and will definatley use your service again. ... quirky and fun. Very central on the Royal Mile. Would recommend to most of my friends who enjoy going out at night and dont mind the hotel bar. Breakfast is excellent and worth the money!

We thought the hotel was great and although there was a bar underneath, you couldnt hear any noise upstairs, except the normal traffic from the city. My only comment would be that perhaps the check in area for the hotel reception should be closed off to regulars in the pub. Unforunately they do tend at night time to congregate in this area and make access to the rooms a little difficult also if you are not quite ready to go to your room, it would be nice to just have a place to sit and have a drink. It could possibly be a none smoking area although Im not sure how practical that could be. Having said this, if we do get the change to come back to Edinburgh again, we would certainly come back to this hotel without hesitation. We found the staff friendly and Lucy looked after us really well. ... The Bank Hotel is quirky the themed rooms are great and make you feel quite at home. It is situated in the most fantastic spot ideal for sight seeing, going to the cinema, theatre or even shopping.

Liked the location of Hotel - did not like that we had to go through a Bar! ... Room was nice and what we expected BUT due to location and Rugby games on was extremely noisy outside for 3 nights, not much sleep to be gotten. ... staff was curtious and polite and very efficient. ... I think you should HIGHLIGHT that you have NO lift and there are a lot of stairs. And that you will have to walk through sometimes a very busy bar to the check in desk. ... nice rooms, GREAT location - Good food - maybe a bit noisy outside.

We stayed there two years ago, and it has gone downhill since then. The tile in the tub was disgusting, the toilet didn't flush well, and after several tries, would not flush for a while. Called down for hand towels the evening we arrived, but did not receive. ... I left word at the front desk the day before our departure for a 4:30 wake up call and a cab at 5:00. Neither occured. My sister woke at 5:40 and we had to fly to make our 7:30 flight.
Would not stay at the Bank again, nor would I recommend. Very disappointing after our prior visit.
